Questions & Answers

For Category A or B car rentals, the driver must be at least 22 years old. For higher car categories, the minimum age limit is 24 years.
For scooter rentals, there is no specific age limit, provided the driver holds the appropriate license: A1 for 125cc scooters or A/A2 for scooters and motorcycles over 125cc.
Drivers over the age of 75 are required to purchase “Senior Citizen’s Insurance,” which currently costs €30 for the entire rental period.

Upon picking up your car, scooter, or ATV/quad, you must present your driving license. If you wish to pay by card, a valid credit or debit card will also be required.

If you have forgotten or lost your physical driving license, you can show a photo of it. Temporary driving licenses are also accepted, provided they are currently valid.

A valid driving license issued at least one year prior to the rental date is required.
Licenses issued in any European Union member state are accepted.
Licenses from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, and Gibraltar are also accepted, provided they are written in English (according to Law 4850/2021).
Licenses from countries outside the EU or those not mentioned above must be accompanied by a valid International Driving Permit (IDP).

For the booking, we will require the following information: driver’s full name, location, date and time of pickup and drop-off, vehicle type, and a phone or WhatsApp number.

Your online reservation is confirmed once you receive the relevant confirmation email from GSR Rental. We recommend saving this email, as it may be needed for identification during vehicle pickup.

Yes, for rentals during the high season (July and August), a 10% deposit of the total value is required for new customers. The remaining 90% is payable upon pickup of the vehicle.
No deposit is required if you are a regular customer or if the rental is during the low season, such as May or mid-to-late September.

Yes, the deposit is refundable provided you notify us at least 2 weeks before the scheduled start of the rental. A small amount may be deducted for bank fees or commissions.

Yes, pickup or drop-off outside of hours can be arranged at no extra charge, provided it has been agreed upon in advance during the booking. Flight delays are excused when the pickup has been pre-scheduled.
Pickup after 11:30 PM is not possible for last-minute bookings, whether made by phone or in person.

Don’t worry. As long as the pickup has been scheduled in advance, our representative will be waiting for you at arrivals. There are no delay charges due to flight issues.
We monitor your flight via flightradar.com so we know your exact arrival time and can organize the vehicle delivery accordingly.

Payment is made upon vehicle pickup. You can pay in cash (Euros) or with a Visa/Mastercard credit card.
Debit cards are accepted only at our office or by prior arrangement.

No, GSR Rental’s only fixed location is our office in Spartia. However, for your convenience, our representative will meet you at your arrival point holding a sign with your name and guide you to your vehicle in the public parking area.

Yes, we recommend inspecting the vehicle carefully before starting your rental and taking your own photos or videos.
Before signing the contract, you will receive a digital file via email or WhatsApp containing photos of all existing wear and tear, such as scratches, dents, or other marks.

GSR Rental does not have a private parking area at the airport. If you arrive early, you can find a spot in the public parking lot or wait inside the vehicle until our representative arrives.
If there is no traffic, you may stop briefly on the right side in front of the Departures entrance, Sector B, to unload your luggage. However, you must remain with the vehicle until the drop-off process is complete.

Yes, it is essential to inform us at least 30 minutes before your contract expires. Otherwise, a fine of €20 applies for every 30 minutes of unjustified delay.

Yes, you can return the vehicle earlier than the scheduled date or time. Please inform us as early as possible regarding the new date, time, and location so we can properly organize the meeting, vehicle inspection, and check-out process.

In the event of an early vehicle return, no refund is provided for the unused time. For this reason, we recommend being certain of your rental duration and holiday schedule before finalizing your booking.

When returning your vehicle to GSR Rental, please ensure the following:

  • Fuel:The vehicle must be returned with the same amount of fuel as when received, per our “same-to-same” If the fuel level is lower, the renter will be charged for the difference. No refunds are given if returned with more fuel.
  • Equipment:Ensure all accessories and equipment—such as tools, spare tire, phone holder, or other extras—are in place.
  • Punctuality:The return must occur at the pre-agreed time. Delays without prior notification may result in extra charges as per our Terms & Conditions.

There is a 30-minute grace period for late returns to the agreed location.

  • If this period passes without notifying the company at least 30 minutes before the contract expires, a fine of €20 per 30 minutesof delay will apply.
  • If you notify us in time and receive approval, the standard hourly rate applies (calculated at 1/10th of the daily price).

Availability is confirmed by the booking manager after your request. Please note that vehicle photos are indicative. If the pictured model is unavailable, an equivalent or upgraded vehicle of the same category will be provided.

  • Car Rentals:No mileage limit (Unlimited Kilometers).
  • Scooter & ATV Rentals:A limit applies for short-term rentals under 3 days:
    • 1 day:First 180 km free.
    • 2 days:First 250 km free.
    • Extra km:Charged at €0.25 per km.

Vehicle maintenance and technical inspections are carried out regularly by GSR Rental. However, during your rental—especially if you are driving many kilometers—it is recommended to perform basic checks such as oil level, water level, and tire pressure.
For scooter rentals, an oil check may be required approximately every 800 km. If a top-up is needed, it will be done at the company’s expense. Upon notification, our representative can perform this check for you.
Any warning light on the dashboard must be taken seriously and reported immediately.

If any warning light appears on the dashboard, you must immediately inform GSR Rental during office hours (07:00 – 23:30).
In case of an emergency, or if you are unsure whether it is safe to continue driving, call our manager for assistance at any time.

In the event of a breakdown, contact us immediately at +30 6945966915, available 24/7.
GSR Rental will arrange to replace the vehicle with a similar one, subject to availability. If a replacement vehicle is not available, a refund will be issued for the remaining days of your contract.

In case of an accident, immediately contact GSR Rental at +30 6945966915 and follow these steps:

  • Check for injuries:If anyone is hurt, call 166 for an ambulance or 112 for general emergency services.
  • Do not move the vehicles:Cars must remain in position unless they pose an immediate danger. Moving them can affect the police report and the insurance process.
  • Collect information:Note down the license plate numbers of all involved vehicles and, if possible, the contact details of the other drivers.
  • Secure the scene:Turn on your hazard lights and place the warning triangle behind the vehicle: 100m on highways, 50m on rural roads, and 20m within residential areas.

Depending on the extent of the damage, the company may withhold part or all of the security deposit to cover repair costs.
The renter is exempt from liability for damage only when specific insurance and legal conditions are met. Even with Full Insurance, certain damages or conditions may void the insurance coverage.

If you have purchased Full Insurance with Zero Excess, your financial responsibility for bodywork damage is typically reduced to zero. However, you remain responsible for cases such as:
• Damage to the interior (upholstery, switches, or excessive dirt)
• Loss or breakage of keys or additional equipment
• Damage to the underbody, tires, rims, or glass
• Damage from off-road driving
• Damage caused while under the influence of alcohol or drugs

Insurance coverage may also be voided if:
• The Traffic Code was violated (e.g., speeding or running a red light)
• An unauthorized person was driving
• There was negligence (e.g., keys left in the car, open windows during a storm, wrong fuel, or driving with a flat tire)

If the accident was caused solely by another driver, there must be an official police report proving their liability. Without this report, you may be held responsible for the repair costs up to the excess amount specified in your contract.

Yes, Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) is included in the car rental price.
However, this specific insurance does not apply to scooter or ATV/quad rentals. For scooters and ATVs, according to legislation, coverage is included for third-party damages or injuries, but not personal coverage for the driver. For extra safety, you may wish to consider private personal accident or medical insurance.

Yes, roadside assistance is included in the rental price and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
In case of a breakdown or emergency, you must inform our manager of your location and situation. Roadside assistance will handle the vehicle recovery, and GSR Rental will arrange for potential replacement solutions.
If the breakdown occurs outside of Kefalonia, additional transportation costs may apply.

Spare keys are kept at our office. The cost for replacing a lost or broken key ranges from €10 to €200, depending on the key type. In addition to the replacement cost, a delivery fee may apply to bring the new key to your location.

For a scooter or ATV/quad, you must first inform GSR Rental and then call roadside assistance for vehicle recovery.
For a car, you can use the spare tire located in the trunk along with the tools and drive to the nearest tire repair shop.
If you do not know how to change the tire, we can assist you. We provide free technical support for minor issues within a 12km radius of our office. Please note that delays may occur in these cases as they are not considered immediate emergencies.

If you find a ticket on your windshield or are stopped by the police, paying the fine is the renter’s responsibility. It must be settled within 10 working days at a post office (ELTA) or a bank.
If you wish to avoid the wait, we can handle the payment for you. In this case, you must deliver the ticket to us within 10 days, along with the fine amount and an additional €20 service fee.

Yes, you can transport the vehicle by ferry, but prior written authorization from GSR Rental is required.

Yes, all our vehicles are equipped with a phone holder, so you can use GPS with greater comfort and safety during your travels in Kefalonia.

No. To rent and drive an ATV / Quad Bike, a standard car license is required (Category B driving license).

There is no specific age limit for scooter rentals; however, the appropriate driving license is required. For a 125cc scooter, an A1 license is required, while for larger scooters over 125cc, an A2 or A license is necessary.

Yes, every scooter and ATV/quad features a top case at the back, providing practical storage space for helmets and small items. The top case is included in the rental price. We can also provide extra elastic luggage straps (bungee cords) to safely secure small bags.
